Black Bean Burger with Kimchi

This recipe is a tasty and spicy take on the traditional black bean burger. It combines the rich flavors of black beans with the sour and spicy kick of kimchi. Great for burger lovers who like their food a little spicy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of cheese optional
  • Sriracha mayo for topping optional

Instructions:

Chopped onion, minced garlic, cilantro, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper should all be put into a food processor along with black beans

Pulse until everything is well mixed but not completely smooth

Split the mixture in half and shape each half into a burger patty

Warm up a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat and grease it a little

The black bean burger patties should be cooked for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and warm all the way through

While the patties are cooking, you can add a slice of cheese to each one if you want

Then, cover them to let the cheese melt

You can grill or toast the burger buns until they are lightly browned

Spread Sriracha mayo on the bottom half of each bun, if you're using it, before putting the burgers together

After the mayo, put a lettuce leaf on top of it and then a black bean burger patty

Add a lot of kimchi to the top of each patty

Put the top half of the bun on top of the kimchi to finish

Warm up the Black Bean Burger with Kimchi and the Black Bean Salad
